COVID-19 PROTOCOL

Dear Little Sprouts Family,

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to provide the best dental care for your children in a comfortable, fun, and safe environment.

At Little Sprouts Kids Dentistry, infection control has always been a top priority and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. We closely follow all the infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

As we plan for our reopening on May 18th, you may notice some changes when it is time for your family’s next appointment. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made changes to our work flow and added extra precautions as recommended by the ADA and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), in order to adhere to social distancing guideline and help protect our patients and staff. Below are a few examples of the changes that we’ve implemented:

Making an Appointment:

  • We are working diligently to reschedule patients whose treatment appointment was postponed during our closure (03/18/20 – 05/18/20). Our staff will be in contact soon to reschedule, we appreciate your patience as we make arrangements to open more appointments.

  • Appointments will be arranged to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you may be offered fewer options when scheduling your appointment.

  • We will ask health screening questions when appointments are being made and confirmed over the phone. You will be asked those same questions again when you arrive for your appointment.

  • We are working toward making our office 100% paper-less in attempt to reduce the amount of potential infectious contact points. All forms will be able to be completed on your mobile device, tablet, or personal computer. We are asking that all forms be completed prior to the appointment date.

Checking In:

  • All check-in procedures will be completed over the phone. Families will be asked to wait in their vehicles and call our office once arrived.

  • A staff member will escort the patient(s) into our office. We are asking that all other family members wait in the car.

  • If the patient requires an accompanying adult, we are asking families to limit to only one accompanying adult per family. If this is not feasible, please let our staff know prior to the day of the appointment.

  • All members of our staff, including our front office staff, will be wearing face masks at all times. We require that you do the same – if you choose to accompany your child into the office, we ask that you wear a face mask to cover your mouth and nose while visiting our office. Unfortunately, due to the national shortage of Personal Protective Equipment, our office will not be able to provide masks to anyone other than our staff.

  • We will be taking temperatures for all patients and accompanying adult during check-in. We will also take temperatures of all staff members at the beginning of each work day to ensure that everyone is healthy.

During the Appointment:

  • We will ask patients and the accompanying adult to use hand sanitizer upon entering our office.

  • Our video game systems in the waiting room and play lounge area will not be available at this time. We have stored away all blocks, books, and stuffed animal friends. However, our patients will still receive prizes for being excellent dental helpers at the end of their dental visit.

  • Parents, please have your phone on and with you at all times. Any necessary communication, such as clinical findings, treatment changes, and insurance or payment discussions, will be conducted over the phone.

While we understand that all these changes may be overwhelming, at a time that is already filled with many uncertainties, we ask for your patience and participation in the necessary efforts in order to help us keep our patients, staff, and our community healthy. We will continue to review and make changes to our protocol as the situation with COVID-19 continue to evolve. We look forward to seeing our patients again and will be happy to answer any of your questions or concerns.

Thank you so much for choosing Little Sprouts Kids Dentistry to be your children’s dentist! We value your trust and confidence and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors, and friends!

Sincerely,

Dr. Melisa & LSKD Team

COVID-19 UPDATES

March 20, 2020:

Following Governor Inslee's order to halt all elective surgeries and dental services until May 18, 2020. Our office will remain closed until this order is lifted.

We will continue to be available for emergency calls and for patients who need urgent dental treatment. Stay tune for more updates.

March 18, 2020:

Starting Wednesday, March 18, 2020 our office will be temporarily closed to help limit the spread of COVID-19.

National leaders along with the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry have recommended that dentists postpone elective procedures. Following this guideline, we are closing our office and cancelling all non-emergency appointments. We will be available for urgent dental care that involves treatment of pain, swelling, trauma, and/or infection.

Our expected return date is April 3rd, 2020. However, due to the ever changing nature of the COVID-19 outbreak, we will not be rescheduling appointments or making new patient appointments until we are back in office. If you are a new patient and would like to establish care with us once we reopen, please fill out the online submission form and we will contact you to create an account.

We understand this closure may have a large impact on your family, however, as healthcare providers, we have a responsibility to protect our patients, employees, and our community.

We will continue to check our phone lines daily during business hours and our emergency line is always available for emergency calls.

Please continue to check our website and facebook @littlesproutsdds for updates and take care!
